Early Music is music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical periods of Western music. From Gregorian chant to the music of Bach and Mozart, the repertory spans a millennium, from roughly 800-1800. Early music specialists aim to recreate the sound-worlds of earlier times through the use of period instruments and techniques. Early Music America's membership includes most of the professional early music performers in North America. Many of them have uploaded samples of their recordings below.
