EMA Member Ensembles perform at APAP

(SEATTLE, WA)-Three of Early Music America's member ensembles participated in a Gala Showcase Concert on January 11, 2009 at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, in connection with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conference in New York City.

The ensembles, chosen in a national competitive application process were Los Angeles-based quartet Agave Baroque, Connecticut-based Baroque quintet  Fanfare Consort, and Amy Elizabeth Wheeler and Jaroslaw Lipski, a Renaissance lute and voice duo based in Massachusetts.

The showcase concert was presented by Gotham Early Music Scene, the service organization for early music in New York City, and also featured three New York-based groups represented by GEMS Live! (ARTEK, Asteria, New York Consort of Viols), plus The Venere Lute Quartet, an ensemble represented by Nancy Carlin Associates.
