Alta: a renaissance wind trio
Personal Summary / Bio
Daniel Green studied tuba and music education at the Hartt School of Music. Soon after graduating, Dan discovered the unique sound of renaissance and baroque music, first as a recorder player and then later on trombone. Dan quickly become sought after as a freelance trombone player, appearing with Spiritus Collective, New York’s Grande Bande, ARTEK and Arcadia Players. His recording credits include the Amherst Early Music Festival, New York’s Grande Bande and ARTEK in their acclaimed recording of Monteverdi’s Orfeo with Jeffrey Thomas. Dan is also a member of the renaissance wind trio, Alta. In addition he can be heard playing tuba with the Hartford Brass Quintet, Nutmeg Brass Quintet and the Hartford Pops Band. Mr. Green also teaches instrumental music in the West Hartford (CT) Public Schools.
