Monica Reinagel has performed with opera companies, orchestras, and choral groups around the United States and Germany, praised by critics for her clear tone, expressive interpretations, and brilliant coloratura. Recent seasons have included performances of Handel's Messiah, Semele and Israel in Egypt, Bach's Magnificat, B-minor Mass, and St. Matthew Passion, Mozart's Requiem, and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, with groups including the Handel Choir of Baltimore, Santa Fe Symphony, Duke University, Bach's Magnificat and Mozart's Requiem with Handel Choir of Baltimore, include Opera Lafayette, Handel Choir of Baltimore, Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Santa Fe Symphony, and the Duke University Chapel.
Ms. Reinagel's operatic roles include Penelope in Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d’Ullise, Nerone and Ottone in Incoronazione di Poppea, Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina, and L'Architecture in Charpentier's Les Arts Florrssants with companies such as Opera Lafayette, Opera Vivente, and American Opera Theater. She has also created leading roles for the world premieres of three new American operas. Ms Reinagel studied voice and opera at Boston University , the Musikhochschule in Munich, Germany , and the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, Maryland .
