Personal Summary / Bio
Prior to Augsburg, McGuire taught early music and popular music history at the McNally-Smith College of Music where he co-designed the NASM approved curricula for their B.A. programs. In addition to his performances and recordings as electric bassist & vocalist, McGuire has served as musicologist for the Minnesota High School Music Listening Contest, guest lecturer on music paleography at the Hill Monastic Library and Museum in Collegeville, MN, and in recent years as organizer and chair of the "Martin Luther in Medieval Context" sessions at International Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo, MI. He currently serves as Treasurer and webmaster for the International Society of Hildegard von Bingen Studies and has regularly chaired their sessions at the International Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo. He volunteers as Latin language tutor and Fencing coach at Nova Classical Academy in St. Paul, MN where he resides with his wife, two children and three cats.
