Pre-concert talk on the history of comets in art at 6:30 pm

Seicento presents music of Henry Purcell (1659-1695) in an historical ficticious tale about the discovery of the Great Comet, an event eliciting fear of doom and death and the people's reaction, turning to God, the music of the spheres, and good ol' Bacchus.
