Fretwork and lutenist Elizabeth Kenny

Fretwork with lutenist Elizabeth Kenny celebrate the 450th birthday of John Dowland, the finest lutenist of his age, and one of England’s greatest renaissance composers. In 1604 he published Lachrimae, a collection of music for viols and lute, which includes a “transcendental journey” based on his most famous song, “Flow my teares,” as well as a series of remarkable galliards, allemandes, and pavanes. Fretwork is one of the world’s premiere viol consorts, and returns to San Diego with equally noted lutenist Elizabeth Kenny.
