Happy Hour Chamber Concerts present short programs of really good chamber music in an informal setting. All programs (60-75 minutes with no intermission). You're in for a treat - come, join us for a glass of wine and great musical fun. SEICENTO's CONCERT: Enjoy timeless baroque delights as presented by some of Seicento's favorite soloists. Selections include music of Purcell, Lawes, Luzzaschi, Monteverdi expressing passion, love, desire and the joy of imbibing with Bacchus. With a twinkle in their eyes, the versatile ensemble will remind us just how universal human longing and behavior have remained through the ages.  While Purcell is better known for his operas and sacred choral works, the concert includes his secular vocal music as well as some of his most inspired drinking songs and humorous catches (rounds).  Monteverdi’s lush and melodic compositions will balance the program. These passionate duets and trios will make you long for those pre-modern times.
