A workshop on reading from original and slightly modified manuscripts created by Michael Foote --- original notation (e.g., clefs, notes, seeing only your vocal part on a page) with some enhancements so that we can more easily sing the words with the corresponding notes.  Musica Transalpina is a collection of Renaissance madrigals by Italian composers like Marenzio and Alfonso Ferrabosco, popular music of the time which traveled across the Alps and was then set with contemporary (i.e. 16th C) English translations which scan beautifully with the original music. Compiled by Nicolas Yonge, there were two books were published in 1588 and 1597.
