CONCERTO BAROCCO The San Francisco Early Music Society begins the New Year with dazzling concerti by Voices of Music. The Concerto Barocco program showcases Voices of Music’s talent in a beautiful collection of Baroque concerti, each one highlighting a different combination of instruments in a variety of moods, colors and techniques of composers of this genre. Experience the fleet and colorful “Alla Rustica” of Vivaldi, the storm...y intensity of his Concerto in G minor for two cellos and the light and airy Concerto for Recorder. Languish in the sound of Corelli’s most classical and serene Christmas Concerto and J.S. Bach’s sublime Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, BWV 1043 and more. Voices of Music’s Concerto Barocco CD was released in December 2009 and has been in the top 5 on Instant Encore ever since (based on streaming audio-popularity). No other ensemble, including all the major symphony orchestras, has achieved this.
