Paragraph about the ensemble:
Since 2001, the world renowned duo Les Voix humaines (Susie Napper & Margaret Little) is regularly joined by some of Montreal’s finest young gambists (Mélisande Corriveau and Elin Söderström) to form Les Voix Humaines Consort specializing in the vast 17th-century repertoire for viol consort. Les Voix humaines Consort is appreciated for its rich and vibrant sound, the impressive coordination among the four players, and its clarity and ability to build contrasting textures. In 2009 their recording of Henry Purcell’s complete Fantasias for viols was released by ATMA Classique, and the consort toured with this program across Canada in 2009-10. Upcoming projects include a tour in France, a new recording of J.S. Bach’s Art of the Fugue and a colorful Italian program full of diminutions and dances. Les Voix humaines Consort is the only permanent viol consort in Canada. The duo Les Voix humaines still performs in many countries and will make its debut in Japan and China in October 2010.
